Training
The education system is designed according to the British pattern, with compulsory schooling for ten years from the age of 5 to 15. Most schools are state funded and tuition is free of charge. Most five-year-olds start school. The first stage lasts for seven years. Nearly four-fifths of the twelve-year-olds then move on to the five-year continuation stage, which is divided into a three-year and a voluntary two-year stage.
